Nkobongo Resource Centre offers programmes designed to support the development, wellbeing and potential of vulnerable children.

Literacy Programme

The centre offers a weekly reading programme. Using flashcards and books, the children learn how to read, spell & pronounce English and isiZulu words. Children also receive support from staff in completing their homework.

Computer Programme

The children are taught computer literacy.

Life Skills Programme

The centre teaches the children how to fulfil household duties like cooking, cleaning. They also receive lessons around HIV/Aids, sex education and making healthy choices through education and workshops.

Child Protection Programme

The centre offers workshops on child protection issues, including children’s rights, keeping safe, child abuse and more.

Sports Programme

The center offers a variety of sports and outdoor activities to the children.

Art Programme

The art and crafts offered to the children include, drawing, painting, beadwork, dancing, crochet and knitting.

Gardening Programme

The children are taught about planting vegetables and maintaining the garden. The harvested vegetables are used for nutrition programme.

Faith-based Programme

The children learn from the Bible, receive spiritual guidance and support
